Loud and Shrill

Democrats are famous for finding a way to shoot themselves in the foot once they gain power. Since a majority of Americans perceived Bill Clinton’s presidency to be successful, it took a bit of sexual pervasion and blatant lying to destroy his own presidential legacy.
Now, the new progressive power holders in Washington, including and especially those in BHO’s inner circle of mischief, continue to increase their determination to provide freedom-loving Americans with more and better ammunition than they could ever come up with on their own. BHO’s strategy to overwhelm the system with one (illegal) socialist proposal after another has turned out to be an embarrassing, self-destructive strategy.
Having said this, fairness compels me to admit that had BHO enacted his agenda slowly, it would have given people more time to catch on and fight back against his implementation of socialism. From day one, BHO’s plan has been to push as much “stuff” through — legally or illegally — before the 2010 elections — at which time a whole lot of Democrats are going to feel like Marie Antoinette on her worst (and last) day.
Which brings us to the Dems’ latest foot-shooting episode. Last Sunday on CBS’s Face the Nation, Presidential Senior Adviser David Axelrod said of the rally in D.C., “I don’t think it’s indicative of the nation’s mood.” Say what? It was yet another 180-degree switcheroo by the panicked Administration. Whatever you do that’s bad, accuse the other side of doing it. Whatever the other side does that’s good, just claim it’s bad — or that it didn’t happen.
But even better than Axelrod’s self-delusive remarks was what Obama said in yet another 60 Minutes interview: “The loudest, shrillest voices get the most attention.” Again, projection — flip what progressives say and do and claim that the right is guilty of it.
I was at the D.C. rally, and I can tell you that the voices were not shrill, though some of them were at times loud — as well they should have been. But take a cue from Che Prez, because he comes from the ranks of the enemy — the enemy who invented loud and shrill.
You may not be old enough to remember the antics of the hippies in the sixties, but they mastered the art of loud and shrill to move the country irreversibly to the left. Loud and shrill ended the Vietnam War. Loud and shrill kicked the deadly “green movement” into high gear. Loud and shrill reduced God’s role to that of a bench player. And loud and shrill brought Barack Hussein Obama out of the manger into your wallet.
I’m not sure what Saul, King of Radicals, would say about how badly the progressives have botched things up since BHO left the Chicago mob for greener pastures in Washington, but my guess is that he’d be furious at their ineptitude. Alinsky had little patience for radicals who acted like fools. I don’t for a second believe that David Axelrod believes anything he said in his Face the Nation interview, and neither would brother Saul.
BHO and his partners in crime should reread Rules for Radicals. It’s not cool to high-tale it out of town and speak to your own followers while hundreds of thousands of voters are protesting in the town where you live and work (well, leave it at live … BHO is not known for doing a lot of heavy lifting). It’s not cool to dismiss folks who are furious about your policies. It’s not cool to wave aside dissenters as not representing the mainstream view when clearly they do. And it’s certainly not cool to threaten them (as well as Congressmen and women) for challenging you on the facts.
My writings about what would happen if a born-and-bred communist became president go back at least a year and a half, and they easily could have been written today. Though I wish I had been wrong, it’s at least a small consolation to be able to say, “I told you so.” Nor was I alone. A significant number of columnists and radio and TV commentators saw The Obama Socialist Express coming almost from the day he announced his candidacy.
What’s puzzling to me are those remaining “conservatives” on TV who still don’t see it! (You know, “I don’t doubt for a second that Barack Obama has good intentions for America. I just believe that the man is inexperienced.”) For crying out loud, read his books! Watch his video clips! Listen to his speeches! It’s all there — the promise to fundamentally change America, telling ACORN and SEIU that they will help shape White House policy with him, czars that want to sterilize you and give your dog the right to sue you, and other assorted chutzpah that would have bought about the wrath of Saul, King of Radicals, for its lack of subtlety.
BHO is right: Loud and shrill get the most attention. Those who are not members of that shrinking progressive minority that still wants to “fundamentally change America” should take his advice. It’s time to ramp it up and make the new fringe media (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) apoplectic.

Robert,
I really enjoy these posts analyzing and commenting on the foibles of our President, the One. He is quite the character, I just read he is quietly moving now to bring all student loans under his control. The bill will be introduced immediately and will destroy any competitive effect in lending to college students. I cannot believe the speed this President is making taking over so much. I read a NewsMax article where he was called the “controller-in-chief.” That is indeed an appropriate moniker for this despot. He is not going to rest until he has taken it all under control inside the beltway. In addition, it seems there is actually no loyal opposition at all. If it were not for Fox The One would have no opposition.
Keep slugging, I will keep reading and agitating.

As an ex-John Birch Society, Former Goldwater Conservative who watched his hero, Reagan and then Bush slowly steal away our rights and increase Big Government while benefiting Big Business and screwing the middle class, your double-speak enrages me! Apoplectic? Damn right!! I am firmly Pro-Choice and Democratic now, and nothing scares me more than the prospect of a “stealth” right wing religious conservative like Ralph Reed working to make America another Religious dictatorshop like Iran. I like BHO, and I fear the right wing “Goebels” more than the left wing. In fact, I feel that being anti-pro choice and Libertarian is completely hypocritical and contradictory. You are either for the rights of the indiviual woman involved, or you are not!! Religious, moral and personal beliefs should not interfere with the rights of another, and I do NOT include the fetus in this debate!! If my 16-17 year old daughter came to me and was pregnant, I would simply ask if she wanted to continue or not. If not, I would do the most sensible,intelligent and logical thing for HER, and help with getting an abortion.I could go on, but it’s academic. I’ved enjoyed all of your books and I’ve read them all,( and Harry Browne’s too.)and cd’s over the years, but now you’ve become another SHRILL comentator and SHILL for the right wing. As Newsweek once said of Rush Limbaugh: ” ENOUGH ! ” I believe that BHO is a UNITER,not a Communist, and I think the Republicans are lucky he won the election, because now they can blame the Democrats for doing what THEY would have done for Big Business anyway, and even more!! Events will determine who wins in 2010, not just BHO’s policies. I hope I’m still here to debate with you then. JGB

If Jgb in his loud and shrill comment has a single coherent reason to supply in defense of Obama’s hurtling socialist demolition job, I can’t detect it. Why again, Jgb, should we live as serfs to the state?
The Republicans have thought that by accepting lesser raids of our wallets and liberties, they thereby fend off worse. Instead they legislated themselves out of the majority, while establishing precedents and clearing a path for the vicious assault on our rights and future that we’re witnessing now. It’s too bad that the GOP is the only other major party in Congress right now, but they’re what we’ve got in opposition to the socialist Dems. And maybe the backbones of a few GOP congressmen have been stiffened by the vocal public response to the commiecare initiative and other socialist assaults.

JGB-You are a moron. A confused one at that. Perhaps you don’t know anything about some of the claims you are making. To compare Christianity with islam, a radical ideology that destroys anyone who doesn’t agree, is ludicrous. And I didn’t know that Ralph Reed was taking over the political scene in America. Have you ever taken a look at Sharia law? I doubt it. But where you really show your blindness is, as typical of most liberals, your “sticking your head in the sand” stance regarding abortion. First of all you deliberately choose to place the emphasis on the “individual women” and not the “fetus”, better known as a baby. To take that position you either have a severe shortage of intelligence or better yet, a total ignorance of biology and human reproduction. I have never known of one instance where an impregnated woman delivered anything other than another human being. Also, perhaps you don’t know how a woman becomes pregnant. It would seem to me that the “choice” is made when she chooses to indulge in her pleasures. So how does all this revolve around the woman? You are pathetic. So BHO is a uniter? You may have a point. In common language he was a community organizer of poor people, better known as a rabble rouser. You are blind. BHO has a lifetime of associations and mentors that would be right at home in Russia. He has surrounded himself with the most radical, extreme people living in this country. I have never seen any one man lie as much as BHO has. He will look you right in the eye and lie. Fools like you are the biggest threat this country faces, but you will not prevail. Truth always wins. He will be exposed as time goes by and perhaps it will be the re-awakening America needs. This is poorly written, but I just had to get it off my chest.

All the talk about the Left and Universal Health Care Coverage. Barack Obama wants to turn our country into a Social State. But i look at the oppostition and what do i see. They seem to make good sense, but then the Commericals come on and what do i see. Advertisments from Big Pharma, selling this poison, or that poison, it make me wonder if they really care about Health Care or are they just shrills for the AMA and the Pharmasuitacal companies. Does not the Medical Cartel have a hold on Fox and all who report for them seeing it is they who pay the bills for Fox to stay on the air. I have never seen anyone who represents the Natural Health Care Industry advertise on this Station. Ask your self who owns who??
