Tactics of the Benefits Addict

Glenn Beck’s show last Friday may have been the most riveting one-hour of television I have ever witnessed. In essence, Beck took the gloves off and declared war on all criminal politicians residing in Washington — regardless of party affiliation. No more “I could be wrong” qualifying statements, just the unvarnished truth.

He then went on to say that even if the forces of darkness succeed in throwing him off radio and television, he will come back with a louder voice and a larger platform than ever. If Beck continues to ramp up his attempts to gather support in fighting the rapidly emerging dictatorship in our nation’s capitol, he might very well go down as one of the greatest heroes in American history.

The reason he is now so dangerous to those who are trying to finish the job of enslaving the artificial-prosperity addicts in this country — and most everyone else along with them! — is that he says he is willing to lose everything in the pursuit of liberty. That is the key to being a successful revolutionary or, in Beck’s case, a counter-revolutionary: the willingness to lose everything. How many people do you know who are prepared to lose everything to fight for what they believe in?

In laying down the gauntlet, he pointed out that as a recovering alcoholic, he’s already been at the bottom, so nothing scares him. In fact, as recent as 2001, he was dead broke. Beck is a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon — the fastest, biggest star in the history of television broadcasting. He is simply a freak of nature. Hidden behind all the drugs and booze was one of the most natural talents the TV world has ever seen.

Glenn Beck could have been a mainstream, patriotic funny guy, playing it down the middle and being loved by all. But, unlike 99.99 percent of the population, he refused to sell out for fame and fortune. Of course, he now has fame and fortune, but he says that losing them is not the most important thing to him.

“The worst thing that can happen in my life,” said Beck, “is to lose my honor and to return to my Heavenly Father without honor — without doing what I was supposed to do.” When people talk like this, they represent a very big problem for those in power.

Enter guest Keith Ablow, a renowned psychiatrist whom I have come to greatly admire since I interviewed him many months ago. Ablow has a lot on the line himself, not only with a glowing professional reputation, but as a well-known television analyst.

With Ablow sitting across from him, Beck reviewed some of the names he had been called in just the past week, which included “freak show,” “religious nut job,” “cult leader,” “shameless opportunist,” “political operative,” “full of crap,” “delusional,” “hard right,” “idiotic,” “thick-headed,” “spineless coward,” “cry baby,” and “fear-mongering (whatever).” He then asked Dr. Ablow how he thought he should handle such nastiness.

In a brilliant analogy, Ablow compared such name-calling to people who are addicted to drugs, saying that those who spew out such hatred are in a state of denial. They will do anything to deflect from the facts. Drug users want to keep using drugs, so the person who tries to take away their drugs is the devil. And Glenn Beck is the loudest of all voices yelling “Americans, stop taking drugs! Drugs are bad for you!” Thus, he has become an easy devil for artificial-prosperity addicts.

Ablow then pointed out that if you say “the emperor has no clothes and you want to stop the party, you’re going to be vilified.” He advised Beck to simply expect such drivel, which is the first step toward not being intimidated and thus being able to deal with it.

Then came one of the most poignant moments I have ever witnessed on television. At the end of his second segment with Ablow, Beck said something about losing friends. (I don’t remember his exact words, and I can’t find the segment on YouTube). Like a climactic moment in an epic film, Ablow looked straight at Beck and said softly, “Glenn, I’m your friend.” It was a heavy moment, and you realized that something big — perhaps even historic — may have just occurred.

With that comment, Dr. Keith Ablow himself crossed over the line. At the risk of his career, he made it clear, on national television, that, like Glenn Beck, he does not fear those who threaten to silence their enemies — enemies being those who are willing to stand up for the cause of liberty.

How about you? Are you willing to stand with these brave men and defend the cause of liberty rather than be anesthetized by another college football game a week from Saturday? If so, whatever you’re doing on September 12, you should think seriously about canceling it and making it a point to be at the all-important Tea Party in Washington. History beckons.

    Mr. Ringer,

If you’re still interested in that video clip from Glenn Beck’s show, shoot me an email. I’ve been archiving his TV show since some time last March. I already have it in digital format and can have a clip on YouTube within hours from getting the email. I have nearly every show since the end of March, with commercials removed.

(I’ve been archiving it for my own purposes to have a future record for my home educated children about this historic time in which we’re living. I never thought about putting any of it on YouTube because I assumed many people already were.)

    Robert,

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I had thought of going to DC, but I am going to stay here in Tallahassee, Florida, and make my presence known where I live! I remember going to DC in 1970 when I was a radical antiwar collectivist goofball, screaming “Stop the war or we’ll stop the government!” That did no one any good, me least of all. If I can reach one Florida autocrat with a message of true individual freedom it beats being a face in the crowd in DC where you KNOW the regime in command is paying Zero attention!

KEEP IT UP ROBERT RINGER….LOVE YOUR STUFF

The “friends” comment made by Keith Adler started with Adler saying, “the truth is all powerful. We need leaders who are willing to say, ‘I’ll take the pain. I want to show what the facts really are. I know you’re coming for me. It’s OK.’ Because if you don’t do that, the suffering multiplies. And then the rest of us are lost down the road.

“And you’ve got to know who your friends are. It’s one thing to stand alone, but if you’re a man, and I’m one of your friends, if you’re a man who can call someone and say, ‘Here’s what my heart is feeling. It’s tough what I’m doing. This road is not easy to travel.’ That’s a different person than someone who is isolated and alone. And for people who don’t know it, I know you’ve housed other peoples’ children in your home when they met tough times.”

I so want to be in Washington DC on 9/12. I can’t. I’m committed to attending a 3-day seminar for which I’ve paid a good deal of money. But I will be recording it so that I’ll be able to watch it when I get back home.

We all need to give our voice and support to Glenn Beck. He IS a brave man.

  5. PerfesserCoffee Says:

    Mr. Ringer:

I agree with you wholeheartedly but I take exception to your use of the term “counter-revolutionary” to describe Glenn and his/our goals. That presupposes that the establishment is revolutionary in the American sense of the word. They are most definitely NOT.

We, the people OWN the term “revolutionary!” It was our Founding Fathers who established the most revolutionary government that the earth had ever seen.

The natural law revolution of 1776-1787 put the spear point into the faces of tyrants and was the noblest attempt yet to disperse power and preserve individual liberty and states’ rights.

The counter-revolutionaries are the same old big government tyrannical crap we’ve seen on earth since the beginning of human civilization. Monarchies, oligarchies, socialists, communists, fascists, etc.–they’re all the same in their denying the natural law of man. They are the ones who have gained the upper hand and now compose the establishment as they have, pretty much, for a over a century now.

Fascism, a form of socialism, now reigns supreme. We, the people, are now called to our 1776 revolutionary roots and will have to oust the tyrants or lose everything.

I would appreciate it if you did not allow the socialist/fascist establishment to steal yet another term from us and distort it. Please refer to us as the “revolutionaries” and the establishment as the “counter-revolutionaries” that they truly are.

Otherwise, keep up the great work!

I am moving to Sweden (currently studying the language, daily), and dropping out of the poliitical, power-mongering quagmire that was once know as America, the land of freedom.

Better to be an obscure nobody in a “neutral country,” than a revolutionary in this government’s cross-hairs. Don’t even listen to, or care for Glen Beck’s shallow, ranting style. Prefer listening to the far more substantive Laura, Tammy, Rush, Mark Levin, and what’s left of Dr. Savage.

  7. lawats Says:

Mr. Ringer, YOU ROCK! I am with Glenn to the end. I called a friend in Texas and told him that I would be there to fight in the “NEW ALAMO” that may be on our horizon. America stand at the crossroads.. We must stand up against it all! GO ROBERT RINGER, TELL IT LIKE IT IS!

  8. kwallin Says:

    Robert,
Super article. I am a huge Glenn Beck fan. I would be so happy to be able to travel to DC and support this movement, but the economic conditions have me about flattened completely. I will recover, but time is not my friend right now. I thank you for your commentary on the national situation.

  9. Danlex Says:

There is a day coming very soon when every person will be forced to make a choice and take a stand. It doesn’t really matter WHO you are—the moment is coming. People really need to start considering that NOW because decisions made in a moment of fear are rarely correct.

  10. wingnug Says:

“The worst thing that can happen in my life,” said Beck, “is to lose my honor and to return to my Heavenly Father without honor — without doing what I was supposed to do.”

I believe Mr. Beck may have lifted that line from Ziad Jarrah.

  11. Reality seeker Says:

Mr. Beck is finding a revolutionary’s voice in the spirit of the founding fathers. He’s warming himself and his adherents up for the coming fight.

In the upcoming fight for America, what will separate the men from the boys is when the social organisers make their move and finally employ violence— not just name calling— to achieve their goals. At that point, when the violence begins, then we shall see who has the heart of Washington, Franklin, Jefferson, and the other true lions.

Being the owner of a gifted tongue is one thing, but true heart is what it takes to back up all the talk.. Mr. Beck gives a good bible thumping sermon, no question about that. And if he has the heart to back it up, then all of us will have the special privilege of viewing an individual who will make history…………if the socialists let him live long enough.

  12. RuthAnn Danielson Says:

Wow, if Robert Ringer likes that show of Glenns I NEED to see it. I missed that one and am now catching up (surgery drops one out of things for awhile).
I have been with Glenn for a long time. This is my country and I love it and I will not move to avoid whatever the consequences of defending it and alighning myself with other people who are willing to fight back and do the same. The army is growing!!

I noticed quite remarkably a long, long time ago the lack of substance, charachter and clothes Obama had on. He is surrounding himself with the likes of the same. Birds of a feather. I keep asking myself “How could we have sunk so low” but it is time now to stand up.

Health and finances keep me from being in Washington DC 9/12 but I would give my right arm to be there – but no one wants my right arm as yet!!

I am a small voice, but I am a voice!!

  13. Lady Liberty Says:

Glenn? Losing friends? I love Glenn… and I have turned a lot of people on to his shows – radio AND TV. Not to mention his websites.

Glenn, if you’re reading: you have tons of friends. Just turn around and look at your mural!!! Don’t you ever forget it. Don’t forget US. You were the one who reminded us that we surround them! Don’t let these losers faze you with their name-calling. They’re just bullies, and YOU are surrounded by people who know you speak the truth.

Like you, I’m willing to go to jail or die to protect/restore our freedom. Like you, I do not wish to stand before my Creator one day and have to admit that I gave up. I’m with you. WE are with you.
