The Goebbels Strategy Lives On

If you watch Glenn Beck regularly, you probably find yourself shaking your head in amazement and wondering why a vast majority of Americans aren’t demanding that the president, most of his cabinet, all of his czars, and a significant percentage of House and Senate members be criminally investigated.
Beck is overly generous when he insists that he’s not a journalist, that most of what he says is simply his opinion. There’s no question that he offers strong (and courageous) opinions, but I would argue that most of what he says is fact. I know, because I check out a lot of the information he serves up, and, almost without fail, his words are backed up by legitimate sources.
Beck keeps pleading with viewers to wake up before it’s too late. Good advice. But he seems bewildered by the fact that no one is talking about the government criminal behavior that he continually uncovers. The reason, of course, is that the Culture of Corruption (Michelle Malkin’s scathing indictment of most of the Obama criminalweb) in Washington, at a minimum, goes unreported by most of the major newspapers and magazines, as well as the major TV networks.
And the reason for this is that Obama and his cronies have proven to be masters at implementing the strategy of one of the greatest propagandists of the 20th century, Joseph Goebbels. (For more on Goebbels, see “Way to Go, Greta!”) Said Hitler’s infamous propaganda minister: “Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
None of the criminality of the Obama administration would be possible without the explicit (or, at the very least, implicit) approval of the media. Can you imagine a presidential press conference where, instead of asking Der Fuhrbama about his dogs or his latest beer summit, they asked him questions such as:
“You told Joe the Plumber that you believe in spreading the wealth around. Since the Constitution doesn’t allow you to do that, from whom did you acquire the moral authority to take people’s earnings by force and arbitrarily hand them to others?”
“You are on video in 2003 saying that you believe in a single-payer healthcare system. Why are you now telling the American public that you merely want a ‘government option’ added to our existing system? Were you lying in 2003, or are you lying now?”
“How do you reconcile the fact that, within a short space of time, you said that the Medicare system is a perfect example of how well government programs can work, then turned right around and said that Medicare is broke?”
“Why would you appoint an avowed communist, Van Jones, as “green czar?” Did you know that he was a communist before you appointed him? Was he properly vetted? Since communism seeks to destroy capitalism, isn’t his appointment a clear indication that you would like to destroy capitalism?”
“Throughout your life, you have, by your own admission, associated most closely with people like Frank Marshall Davis (another communist), Reverend Jeremiah Wright (an advocate of “black liberation theology”), Bill Ayers (a convicted terrorist who stills says that he wished his group, the Weather Underground, would have done more), and Marxist professors (in college). Given these associations and your extreme liberal voting record in the Senate, weren’t you being disingenuous with the American public when you tried to position yourself as a mainstream American in the last presidential election campaign?”
“Who, exactly, writes these thousand-page bills that keep getting rammed through Congress on short notice, and why do you not insist that all congressmen and women read them before voting on them?”
“Most of what you have done since you gained office is in violation of the Constitution. The Tenth Amendment specifically states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.” In other words, the federal government has no powers other than those specifically granted to it by the seven Articles of the Constitution. Knowing this to be so, how do you justify violating the Constitution on a daily basis?”
“Since thousands of creditable scientists throughout the world say that global warming either does not exist or, if it does exist, it is not manmade, why are you determined to push through a cap and trade bill that will kill American businesses and jobs, dramatically raise taxes, and increase the cost of energy?”
“Why is Tom Daschle, whose tax problems were apparently so severe that he withdrew his nomination for Secretary for Health and Human Services, still coming to the White House and giving you advice on a regular basis while at the same time working for the law and lobbying firm of Alston & Bird and giving advice to UnitedHealth, the nation’s largest health insurance company?”
From the $410 billion omnibus bill (with 9,000 earmarks) to the $800 billion “stimulus package” … from Cash for Clunkers to insulting and dismissing American taxpayers who disagree with his policies … from appointing a total of thirty six “czars” who do not answer to either the Congress or American taxpayers to bringing criminally infested ACORN into the White House to take over the census … the stench of government corruption can be smelled throughout the land.
Being the clever devil that he is, to avoid ever having to answer such questions, BHO apparently made a strategic decision to put a great deal of his creative energy into playing the great keyboard called “the press.” Goebbels would have loved it.
But perhaps I’m giving him too much credit. Maybe it’s the press, on its own, that made a conscious decision, early on, to ignore any wrongdoing on the part of this galling young truth-twister because they have waited so long for an unapologetic progressive to slip into the White House with a super majority in Congress to back up his dastardly deeds.
If the media did make a conscious decision to become a government keyboard, they should think about that old maxim: Be careful what you wish for, or you may get it. If people get the government they deserve, the press surely is not immune to the same fate.
When wrongdoings evolve into atrocities, don’t be surprised if many left-wing media pawns turn to the black market to buy up copies of F.A. Hayek’s Road to Serfdom in an effort to figure out how they were duped into participating in their own enslavement.

You should hire a professional protection detail much like that provided The One. You may need it. You see how aggressively The One’s supporters are going after Glenn Beck for just one simple comment, calling The One “racist” for his playing the race card about the Crowley/Gates silliness, so you should worry. You have written a lot of attack’s, all legitimate, on The One. It is dangerous to mess with a Socialist, they will have you “touched” some place where it will be difficult to lay the blame at the feet of The One.
You be careful, we depend on a nationally recognized name to speak the truth.

Thank you for the above excellent article!
Just a quick question,.. Have you seen the e-mails that this so called President has been sending out to the public? It seems that he and /or his cronies still do not trust the press to convey his propaganda. To me this relatively new “tool” tells me a great deal about the real way that the fasist mind works. And perhaps you’ve hit on an effective antidote to it’s poisonous effects on the public mind?
Could it simply be generating ideas in the mind of the public through “sensitizing” internet search engines so that THEY keep on bringing up such great and clear questions as the ones that you so generously provided in “The Goebbels Strategy Lives On”?

Not one man in a thousand understands the Tenth Amendment. The majority don’t even know why the Tenth Amendment was added to the Bill Of Rights. Most individuals think that just because all the unlisted, natural, and self-evident rights of mankind are not written down specifically in the Constitution, that these many unnamed rights are merely privileges that are left open to the government to abridge. Most people don’t even stop to think about what constitutes a right and what is a privilege. For example, there is the unwritten right to fall in love, the unwritten right to marry, the unwritten right to have children, the unwritten right to choose your occupation, and so on and so forth. The Tenth Amendment stands as a reminder that all the unlisted rights of the people are not be legislated and treated by the government as merely “privileges” of the people.
The type of general ignorance that is held so dearly by the general public regarding the Constitution and natural laws in general is why the masses of people are confused; and in turn, why Mr. Beck and other well intentioned gentlemen will continue to be frustrated beyond believe in their futile attempts to “wake” people up through the use of education.
Mr. Beck!……And all those who adhere to him!………Attention!……….. May I have your Attention please!……….The uninformed and misinformed masses don’t know anything because they don’t want to know; and the reason that they don’t want to know is because they don’t care; and the reason they don’t care is that the level economic pain has not yet touched them severely enough. All attempts to educate the masses, even the majority of them, no, even the minority of them will prove a complete waste of time. It is only a very small and wise minority that are worth the time and effort that it takes to properly educate somebody. Moreover, as a rule, the very small and very wise minority are erudite to begin with; therefore, they will readily except the teachings of extraordinary men, such as F. A. Hayek.
At this juncture, in my opinion, the goal should not be to educate the vast majority, but to increase the number of sapient teachers in the wise minority. In due time, after America muddles down, “The Road To Serfdom,” and reaches its final destination; then the level of human suffering and pain will surely elevate to the level when it will be worth it for individuals like Mr. Beck to pound their desks yell out, ” I told you so!!! What have I been saying all these years!!!” Wake up!!! Are you now ready, America, to wake up!!!”
As an aside, it’s laughable for me to hear individuals, like Glen Beck, warn and admonish their adherents not to employ violence in any of their efforts to protest or oppose the government. In principle, I would agree. After all, the very wise F.A. Hayek stated that the beauty of American Democracy is its ability to solve problems through the voting process, without violence. Unfortunately, to the disappointment of all peace loving men like Mr. Beck, in my assessment, history has demonstrated that social planners(i.e. community organizers) will make the first violent move and resort to any means necessary to achieve their objectives——including massive coercion, confiscation, and yes……..widespread violence. You see, the social organizer has this nasty little habit of having his minions label everyone who opposes his goals thugs, terrorists, hit-men, insane tax-evaders, racists, bigots, and every other name in the book. Meantime, the social organizer( aka community organizer) will move ruthlessly to impose his social organisation plan for a new America. How the social organizer will fund his efforts is through the printing press; then, shortly afterward, will come confiscation of assets like gold, silver, real estate, 401Ks, IRAs etc. etc. ——-that all will be replaced with government IOUs. And near the end of the game, the social organizer will force the hands of peace loving men like Mr. Beck to act. How will the peace loving men respond? You just name it. Individuals will respond with all manner and forms of resistance. It’s what’s called ” a revolution.”
The question is: will it be a genuine or just a serous revolution that takes place under the current president? The answer is that nobody can answer with absolute certainty, not even Mr. Ringer. One can only make an educated extrapolation. One thing is almost 100% certain: Revolutions are much like earthquakes, and it’s only a matter of time before the big one is going to hit.

Robert — as encouraging as it is to me to see you’re hearing and reading the same things as me, I’m still scared to death at what I see happening around me. It’s absurd! When I Googled the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” during Glenn Beck’s show, I literally *shuddered* when I saw the associations involved with what I see in the news & hear about on the talk shows.
I’ve got friends, family members, a spouse, and dozens of old high school & college ‘friends’ I communicate daily with, and they seem *oblivious* to what I’m talking about, looking at me sideways & all when I hold up my copy of Mr. Levin’s ‘Liberty & Tyranny’! I know a few people on-line that would excoriate me with labels such as ‘racist’ and ‘bigot’ and ‘homophobe’ and any other slanderous rants if I were to try and engage in a civil discussion about the issues at hand. Thank God you’re out there, reinforcing the view that I’ve been sharing of late. Let’s hope it’s not too late to *WAKE UP* more of these people to what appears to be going on. In the meantime, this is one ‘choir’ you can just keep on preaching to — I’m with you all the way, & I need to hear another respectable leader articulate it in ways I can’t!

Thank you for this insightful email…It’s truly amazing how few people realize these things. You are a constant breath of fresh air. I live about four miles from our president’s Chicago home and I’m surrounded by mostly brainwashed drones to the laughable lie about hope and change. I’m a fan of your books and still laugh to myself when I see the self determined real world experience theories you espoused unfolding before my eyes. Great stuff…please continue.

Maybe the “change” that was hyped up so vigorously during the presidential campaign, was to take the white and blue off of the flag, and just go with what remained. Also, the term, “USSA” should start to roll off your tongue easier…. People like Glenn Beck,and their ilk , only talk AROUND the problems that face this country, and even the world,at any given moment. Either they DON’T see, or they WON’T say that the problem is that we the people have let our government have too much power, they don’t realize that the government serves us, NOT the other way around. The one difference between the Germany of “der fuhrer”, is that no one group of people is being oppressed,or prosecuted, or worse, killed due to their cultural beliefs or identity. Instead, it seems we are all being held hostage by a sort of plutocratic/fascistic hybrid of government with the undereducated masses of people, going along just to get along.

In my opinion, BO was elected because so many voters, particularly young and naive voters, wanted to “make history” by electing the first African American president, irregardless of his backround, associations or politics. This, coupled with the total failure of the right to exert some leadership during the Bush years and present an electable candidate who stands up for conservative principles has created the mess we are in. I mean, John McCain for president? And then he picks a completely unknown running mate, who in my opinion is ill equipped to run for high office and will guarantee BO a second term if she does run, and who’s only qualification for office seems to be she wears a skirt (a vast improvement over Hillary, anyway).
And while your words are very eloquent and make a great deal of sense, you, like the rest of the members of conservative talk-showland continue to preach to the choir, which isn’t going to change much in my view.
The Republic has survived a lot – but the gradualism that seems to be kicking into high gear in this administration is turning our once proud nation into something unrecognizable. I’ve always been fascinated by the fall of the Roman Empire, and wonder if I’m not witnessing a repeat.
